In Memoriam

I know it’s been some time since I last updated this blog, and I apologize, but I have been in mourning, grieving the passing of my old computer’s hard drive, which died quietly in its sleep during a last-ditch attempt to back up what little valuable data I possessed. The obvious lesson to be learned here is that of the intransience of life and the insignificance of all things. The other, more specific, lesson I learned was that it is probably a bad idea to attempt complicated multi-track recording projects with a painfully obsolete laptop that is prone to overheating under the best (coldest) of conditions on 95+ degree days with no air conditioning and when your life in general is prone to frequent bouts of entropic tragicomedy. The bad news is that most of my recent blog-worthy photos have disappeared forever from this earth (not to mention the entire recording project that I was working on). The good news is that I enjoyed a couple weeks of very limited computer usage (the outdoors is pretty nice this time of year) and have subsequently treated myself to a nice new one that is altogether fancier than I deserve. The other good news is that I’m co-teaching a class tomorrow/today (assuming that I get out of work on time for a change) at the Boston Center for Adult Education on vegan baking with my friend homefries (with whom I made those chai cupcakes a couple months ago). It apparently is not too late to register, so if you’re in the area and want to get your learn on then by all means come on down. The other other good news is that I have a new boyfriend (not to make this post too livejournalesque) Nathaniel who has been helping me through this difficult, computerless time, and with whom I made some delictious green tea cupcakes a couple weeks ago, which, like all things related to Japan, were a big hit with the giant battle robots.

I <3 destroy.
